2018 National Ranking Tour 5 Champion Samuel Antwi proved his class as he won the 2018 Dons Tennis internal tournament at the Koforidua Sports Club last weekend. The club competition was opened to members of varying skill levels; categories included men’s singles, social 1 and social 2. Antwi won the title after defeating Appiah 7-1 in 45minutes to take home a cash prize of a thousand Ghana cedis and a glittering trophy which was sponsored by Dos Amigos Company limited. "To win this final against one of the best players in the Club is something which is really fantastic for me. I played a great game today. Players of Army Officers Mess Tennis Club(AMTEC) from Accra extended their unbeatable run to the Eastern region where they ousted Koforidua Tennis Club 8-2 in a special Friendly competition over the weekend at the Koforidua Sports Club. A four day National Coaches Conference organized by the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) with support from the Tennis Foundation Ghana(TFG) and International Tennis Federation (ITF) came to a successful end with Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group, Dr. Daniel McKorley donating a sum of money to support the sport at the Accra Sports Stadium. Dr. Daniel McKorley who is a philanthropist of Ghana Tennis paid a surprise visit on the final day of the National Coaches Conference and donated a cheque of ten thousand cedis to aid in the grooming of the next tennis stars and help the coaches equip their selves in tennis. A total of 26 participants from Accra, Sunyani and Koforidua are taking part in the coaching  conference which is conducted by the International Tennis Federation(ITF) instructor Noah Bagerbaseh. The very first edition of the Tennis Clinic and Tournament organized by the Hope Tennis Foundation successfully ended at the tennis court of the Accra Sports stadium over the weekend with winners in different age categories. The initiative, which is to train young tennis players under 16 years began on Wednesday with a tennis clinic and saw about 500 children from 11 clubs participating. The children, aged between 8 and 16 were taken through the basics of the game for 2 days before the competition started on Friday, September 7, 2018. The event, which was organised by the Hope Tennis Club with the collaborative effort of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) saw Stadium B, emerging winners of the U-12 category. Baboo Academy placed 2nd whiles St Francis Foundation occupied the 3rd spot.
