Kumasi kick starts TFG National Juniors Tennis League





Tennis Foundation Ghana(TFG) under the auspices of the Ghana Tennis Federation has put together a ten-week junior tennis league for players aged 10 to 16-years beginning 1st August 2018 at the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club, Kumasi.

TFG National Juniors league, which was launched on the same day, is expected to bring together junior tennis players from five tennis clubs in Ashanti Region to do battle for honors in the boys and girls Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 categories for both singles and doubles.

Clubs participating in the competition include the 4 Garrison Tennis Club, KNUST Tennis Club, Ashanti Tennis Club, DandD Tennis Club and Stadium Tennis Club.

Addressing the participants, coaches and parents, the president of 4 Garrison Tennis Club S. S. Abebe said "we  believe that the decision by the National Federation to hold this year’s junior tournament in the Ashanti Region will build on the efforts and successes made by our club in that regard and indeed all other Tennis clubs in the region". 


He added that "the league will help throw more light on the sport in the region, attract a new population and audience of the sport and several other benefits that would ensure development of the game here".

"To all the participating teams and individuals, we wish you well and encourage you to always keep up the spirit and mentality needed to always win in this sport" he stressed.
