LT. Col Franklin Gyamerah Ball Boys Tourney Ends in Style

It was a delightful weekend on the 4 Garrison Tennis Courts as club members took to the side of the tennis courts as regular ball boys displayed their skills in the 4th edition of LT. Col Franklin Gyamerah Amoakoh Annual Ball Kids Tourney. Wularu brothers, Ivan and Jeffery, won the 16 and 14 Championship: Ivan whitewashing Francis Boye 7-1 in the 16 category while Jeffery also won 7-6 over Seth Aenso in the 14 and under division. Ivan and Jeffery received a giant trophy and Tennis Racquets donated by club member Robert Tetteh for the one-day tournament.  In an interview with myonthelinegh.blogspot.com , Ivan said “I am very happy to win the under 16 category tournament for the first time; it wasn’t easy at all but i'm happy to have won it”. ITF under 18 Championship begins on August 27

 Junior tennis players from around the world aspiring to improve their world ranking will converge on the tennis courts of the Accra Stadium for the much-anticipated GTF/LIFETIME Athletic 18 and under Junior Circuit between August 27 and September 1, 2018. The organizers of the event, Tennis Foundation Ghana, under the auspices of Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) nnd supports from Tenolf Ghana, have announced new sponsorship deals from Mcdan Group of Companies, Coconut Groove Hotel, Hollard Insurance Company and Internet Solutions Ghana. The tournament has generated great levels of excitement within the fraternity with indications that some foreign based players especially in the UK, US and other African Countries will travel to Accra for the one week tournament. Novak Djokovic knocked out of Rogers Cup by teenager Stefanos Tsitsipas

Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic saw his bid for a fifth Rogers Cup triumph ended by a shock third-round defeat at the hands of Greek teenager Stefanos Tsitsipas in Toronto. Tsitsipas, who turns 20 on Sunday, beat the 13-time Grand Slam champion 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 in two hours 18 minutes. The world number 27 is through to the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 quarter-final of his career. The Spaniard beat Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka 7-5 7-6 and will play Croatia's world number seven Marin Cilic in the next round. Luis Marque Donates to PMSPORTS

  In its quest to continuously contribute to the development of tennis, UK based Lawn Tennis Association(LTA) Level 4 coach   Jose Luis Marque who is also Head coach at Raynes Park Tennis club has donated tennis equipment to Peter Mensah Sports Foundation (PM SPORTS). The donated items included tennis bags, balls, racquets and mini-tennis nets. Coach Marque who is heavily involved with the LTA junior development program, speaking to onthelinegh.com said, “I am thrilled and encouraged with the video and talk I had with Coach Peter. Sampson Ahinakwah gives back to Ghana Tennis

Mr. Sampson Ahinakwah,   a former national tennis star has donated assorted tennis equipment, balls, bags, rackets and Cloths to Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG)   as his contribution towards TFGs efforts in reviving the sport in the Country. Receiving the donation in New Jersey, USA (current home of Mr. Ahinakwah), Roger Crawford the President of Tennis Foundation Ghana expressed his sincerest gratitude for the gesture. Mr. Crawford recalled how Mr. Ahinakwah has always been a gentleman even as a youngster. He reiterated the call to all former tennis players currently in Europe and the US to support the Foundation in its efforts to help the Ghana Tennis Federation. Kumasi kick starts TFG National Juniors Tennis League

Tennis Foundation Ghana(TFG) under the auspices of the Ghana Tennis Federation has put together a ten-week junior tennis league for players aged 10 to 16-years beginning 1st August 2018 at the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club, Kumasi. TFG National Juniors league, which was launched on the same day, is expected to bring together junior tennis players from five tennis clubs in Ashanti Region to do battle for honors in the boys and girls Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 categories for both singles and doubles. Clubs participating in the competition include the 4 Garrison Tennis Club, KNUST Tennis Club, Ashanti Tennis Club, DandD Tennis Club and Stadium Tennis Club.
