George Darko Foundation celebrates Xmas with OTC patients

    Patients of the Orthopedic Training Center (OTC) at Nsawam were not left out the Christmas holiday celebrations as Former Tennis Star George Darko donated items to them on Tuesday.   The foundation which was established by Ghana's tennis star based in the US, George Darko presented food items, toiletries, water and other valuable items to the OTC. A team of tennis players who form part of Members of the foundation ( locally managed byHilda Naa Akushika Addoquay) led by Darko's sister Adjei Michelle Twumwaa and Auntie Janet Osei were all present during the donation.   Speaking at the presentation, Michelle Twumwaa inspired the OTC patrons to be like George Darko by not to give up on whatever they do"George is the type that never gives up, no matter the circumstances he finds himself in. 1st edition of Hope Performance Tennis Tourney ends in style

The very first edition of the Tennis Clinic and Tournament organized by the Hope Tennis Foundation successfully ended at the tennis court of the Accra Sports stadium over the weekend with winners in different age categories. The initiative, which is to train young tennis players under 16 years began on Wednesday with a tennis clinic and saw about 500 children from 11 clubs participating. The children, aged between 8 and 16 were taken through the basics of the game for 2 days before the competition started on Friday, September 7, 2018. The event, which was organised by the Hope Tennis Club with the collaborative effort of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) saw Stadium B, emerging winners of the U-12 category. Baboo Academy placed 2nd whiles St Francis Foundation occupied the 3rd spot. For the U-14 category, Stadium B lost it to St Francis Foundation, while Baboo Academy placed 3rd at the finals which were played on Saturday, September 8, 2018. ...

Ghanaian Wheelchair Tennis players Ready for International Challenge

Playing a tournament at home in front of your own fans is always an advantage. For Ghana Wheelchair Tennis stars McLean Atsu Dzidzienyo, Francis Boateng, Isaac Antwi, Bridget Nartey and Vida Antwi participating in the upcoming ITF Wheelchair Tennis Futures tournament will give the local players a definite advantage and a chance to earn valuable points to improve their respective international world rankings and gain points to qualify them to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. The 2018 ITF Wheelchair Tennis Futures Tournament  will be staged at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts from November 7th to 10th 2018. The ITF Futures Tournament is sponsored by Tennis Foundation Ghana(TFG) and Dan D’ van group of companies.
