ALL is now set for the  2018 National Ranking Tour 4 scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts from Monday 9th July to 13th July 2018. After a successful hosting of the 2018 National Ranking Tour 3 sponsored by five former tennis players (Roger Crawford, Isaac Nunoo, Nii Dodoo,Victor Steiner and Isaac tetteh Quaye), the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), on Monday 9th of July 2018 will begin the 2018 National Ranking Tour 4 which is also sponsored by Ismailia Lamptey Babolat sole agent in Ghana and four former tennis players led by Roger Crawford, President of Tennis Foundation Ghana and  The Mohammed siblings (Yakubu Mohammed, Alima Mohammed and Salifu Mohammed) who are all currently based in the US. DCOP Kwasi Doku tourney ends in deadlock

The maiden edition of DCOP Kwasi Doku tournament did not end as expected owing to rainfall during the men’s doubles games but saw 4 Garrison Tennis Club leading Sakumono Tennis Club 4-2 last weekend at 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club Kumasi. The First game for the day was the men’s singles where the home team (4 Garrison) recorded their first victory with Captain of the club Jonathan Quartey beating Nii Borteyael 7-2. Samuel Gyakye Aidoo added another win to the home side by walloping Festus 7-1. Nii Kwei also hammered Stephen Babson 7-1 and Nana Yaw Wallace humiliated Eugene Mensah 7-0. Thomas Ohene Effeh brought some joy into the visitors (Sakumono Tennis Club) as he defeated former President of 4 Garrison Samuel Ampedu Kyei (Kyikyiis) 7-3.  In the Women’s doubles, Sakumono Tennis Club’s Tina and Vero paired up to oust Brenda and Krakra 7-2. TFG to hold Kids Fun and Awards Day

Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) is set to hold the first of its kind dubbed‘TFG Kids Fun and Awards Day”. The event will climax the 2017/2018 National Junior Tennis League Season and usher in the summer Tournaments season. The Ghana Tennis Federation and Tennis Foundation Ghana have put together numerous tournaments for July and August, 2018. Other than the First, second and third placed teams on the league, there will be individual awards to deserving players and Coaches. Friends and families of players as well as anyone interested in playing tennis are welcome to the event which comes off at the Accra Stadium Tennis Center on Saturday, June 30th, 2018.    

4 Garrison wins DCOP Kwasi Doku Farewell Tourney

 It was a display of skills, court craft and beautiful tennis when 4 Garrison Officers Mess tennis Club, Kumasi, played as guests to GHACEM Tennis Club, Takoradi in a farewell tournament in honor of DCOP Kwasi Doku who was transferred by the Government to the Ashanti region. The away club (4 Garrison) put up a plucky performance to outshine the home team (GHACEM) 8-5. In all, 13 games were played on the day with 4 Garrison dominating both the singles- winning 4-3 in the singles and 4-2 in the doubles event- which attracted a large section of the public. The two captains of both clubs, Captain Jonathan Quartey and Captain Wing Commander Bawah, set the ball rolling with the away team's Captain Jonathan Quartey ousting the home team captain Bawah 7-5. TFG National Junior Tennis Championship starts July 9

Over 100 tennis players between ages of 12, 14 and 16 from across the country will participate in the maiden edition of Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) National Juniors Championship scheduled from 9th July to 23rd July 2018 at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts. The maiden event which was announced during the launch of the National Juniors Tennis League by Coordinator of TFG Yakubu Lea-Abubakari and their main collaborator the Ghana Tennis Federation. Speaking to Tennisgh.com on how the Championship going to played the coordinator for the TFG Mr. Yakubu Lea-Abubakari said, we will kick start the junior Championship with the National 12 under which comes off from July 6th to 9th 2018, then the 14 and under Tourney slated from July 13th to 15th 2018 and the 16 and under Tournament also scheduled for July 23rd to 25th 2018”. It was virtually a one-sided affair as 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club whitewashed Hill Tennis Club from Cape Coast to lift this year’s Annual Kilit Tennis tournament. 4 Garrison who were playing at home, paraded their best team. Therefore it was not a surprise when they won the singles by 7-0 and the doubles 3-2. The likes of Mr. Henry Akwaboah, Managing Director of Engine Ghana, Joshua Duah, Nii Kwei, Samuel Taylor, Nana Yaw Wallas, Samuel Aidoo and Captain of 4 Garrison, Jonathan Quartey, all won the men’s singles matches against their counterparts from Cape Coast. In the Men’s doubles however, Cape Coast Tennis Club turned the tables as Ben Nartey and Emmanuel Akiba won 7-2 against Ernest Antwi and Albert. Herman Abban makes 2018 All- Conference Men’s Tennis Team

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced today the 2018 All-Conference Men’s Tennis Team. The all-conference team, as selected by the CCIW’s head men’s tennis coaches, features a team of 12 student-athletes (six first team and six second team recipients), represented by six conference institutions. Carthage senior Herman Abban (Accra, Ghana) won his second-straight CCIW Player of the Year honor after going 7-0 in conference play at No. 1 singles. He is the first player since Wheaton’s Ryan Kreis in 2013 and 2014 to win this award in back-to-back seasons. Abban and teammate Daniel Moore, also a First Team All-CCIW recipient, went 7-0 in CCIW play at No. 1 doubles. Wheaton freshman Anderson Park (Belvidere, Ill./North) was named the CCIW Newcomer of the Year after he finished 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
